Frankfurt, Germany – 11 September 2023 – arkona technologies GmbH, provider of IP core infrastructure solutions announced the release of BLADE//runner software version 2.4 with increased support for 6G film formats, 100G FEC-less operational mode and various other improvements.
New Features
Added support for 6G standards. HD2160p23.98, HD2160p24, HD2160p25, HD2160p29.97 and HD2160p30 over IP/RTP (not supported over SDI)
Changes & Enhancements
Added selectable mode of FEC / NO-FEC option for 100GE network interfaces
On LINK_UP and IP address changes, all ports IPv4 addresses are sent out in Morse code over the QSFP LEDs.
Users not fluent in Morse code may use the Android App "Morse Code Engineer"
We found the following settings to work well:
- detection color FFCC00
- speed 46 LPM
- exposure correction 20
- zoom level of ~6 to 8
See example: https://youtu.be/uTBJuO2Aadg
The RTPReceiver may now limit concurrent IGMP subscriptions to avoid oversubscription during Make Before Break switches.
Reserved bandwidth defaults to 5% of the overall port bandwidth; use r_t_p_receiver.settings.reserved_bandwidth to change this
New APCAP_100GbE application has been added
Allows for for 100G packet capturing, delayed retransmission, and randomized packet loss at user-configurable rates.
Updates to Vapi/Vscript
Node- and Deno-compatible package builds are now available via arkonatech.com.
RTPReceiver
Support for adaptive video readout has been reintroduced
