Arkona Brings BLADE//planner to IBC2026 for its European Exhibition Première

Visual configuration tool enhances BLADE//runner workflows

Frankfurt, Germany — 28 July 2026

Arkona technologies GmbH, the Germany-based provider of IP core infrastructure solutions for professional broadcast, will showcase BLADE//planner at IBC 2026 (Stand 8.A69), following its successful introduction at NAB earlier this year. Making its European exhibition debut, BLADE//planner demonstrates arkona's vision of making software-defined broadcast infrastructures more intuitive, visual and accessible without compromising the depth and flexibility demanded by modern production environments. As broadcasters continue to embrace increasingly sophisticated IP-based infrastructures, configuring processing resources has become both more powerful and more complex. BLADE//planner addresses this challenge by introducing a graphical configuration environment that transforms the way engineers design, configure and deploy processing workflows. BLADE//planner enables offline configuration of complete system architectures through an intuitive visual interface that provides a comprehensive overview of processing flows and resource allocation. Rather than navigating extensive parameter lists, users can simply select the services they require - including routing, colour correction, audio processing and frame synchronisation - and place them where they are needed within the workflow. By abstracting technical complexity, users can focus on operational objectives while still benefiting from the full capabilities of the BLADE//runner platform. For advanced users, however, nothing has been taken away. BLADE//planner continues to provide access to more than one million controllable parameters, enabling automation at scale while retaining the flexibility to configure individual BLADE//runner resources whenever required. Built on a structured architecture with an open API, the platform integrates seamlessly with existing third-party control systems while also allowing broadcasters to develop custom applications or take full advantage of arkona's native graphical environment.

The introduction of BLADE//planner forms part of arkona's broader philosophy of giving engineers the freedom to work the way that best suits them whether through visual configuration, custom orchestration or direct parameter-level control. Rainer Sturm, CEO of arkona technologies, commented: "BLADE//planner represents much more than a new user interface. It fundamentally changes how engineers interact with software-defined infrastructure. Instead of asking users to adapt to technology, we've designed technology that adapts to the way engineers naturally think - visually, logically and operationally. Following the enthusiastic response we received at NAB, we're excited to demonstrate BLADE//planner to the European broadcast community at IBC." Visitors to IBC 2026 will be able to experience live demonstrations of BLADE//planner alongside the latest capabilities of the BLADE//runner platform, illustrating how intuitive visual configuration accelerates deployment, simplifies workflow design and makes even the most sophisticated broadcast infrastructures easier to understand and operate.
